At the 2007 walk, we unveiled a new event called "Dogs on Parade" which is a salute to what animals can do for people with Alzheimer's and other dementias. The festivities included a kissing booth, contests for the animals and their owners to participate in, and the Humane Society was present showing adoptable dogs and one cat to the attendees to meet and get to know at a heavy petting table. The event raised a total of $35,965.00 with 181 people and over 30 dogs attending the event!

The team that raised the most money was Haskin's Heroes with $4,445.00. The individual that raised the most pledges was Carolyn Hamilton with $3,429.00. We are also happy to report that the cat that the Humane Society brought was later adopted that day! We understand his new name is Blackbeard. We truly are thankful that the weather cooperated and we were all able to enjoy a wonderful fall morning. Thank you to all the volunteers, sponsors and attendees that made the event such a huge success! Please keep in mind that we have a Walk to Remember each September, so if you were not able to attend the event this year, you can make a special effort to join in all the fun next time! Bring your dog! They are always welcome!
